Andy is a chartered engineer and offers a wealth of experience across a number of sectors. He has project leadership and direction on major projects in various industry sectors including Public Buildings, Hospitals, Airports, Commercial, Industrial and Historic buildings. Andy has operated within the UK and Globally working on projects in Europe and the Middle East.

Through his project leadership he has developed engineering experience enabling him to take control of projects from concept design through to detailed design and construction.

Andy heads up Hive’s Low Carbon Energy sector.

James has over 30 years of experience in Building services engineering, specialising in mechanical engineering design. As a chartered engineer James takes a holistic view of each project to ensure the clients requirements are understood an implemented with the Hive design. James has worked in most sectors including commercial office fit-out, education, residential and leisure and has always concentrated on the buildability aspects of the design, providing a practical, affordable design solution.

Prestigious building projects include the Gherkin (30 St Marys Axe), Lloyds Building (Lime Street), Scalpel (52 Lime Street) and the Palace of Westminster to name a few. James has also completed many projects abroad in Dubai, Rome, Paris, Iraq and Azerbaijan (Baku).

B.Eng. (Hons), C.Eng., MIET

Matthew started his career in electrical engineering in 1986 when he undertook his full EITB Craft Apprenticship and once qualified he worked as an Electrician ending his carer on the tools as shift foreman in 1994. During this time he passed his LC&G Part I, Part II & ‘C’ Course in Electrical Installation. From this point he worked as a Technical Officer in the MOD and from there moved across to private design consultancy in 1996 where he completed his BEng Hons in Building Services Engineering in 1998.

His broad experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering gives him a unique understanding and skill set which allows him to translate each clients requirements into practical cost effective engineering solutions, always endevouring to aceed there aspirations.

MSc, C.Eng., MInstRE, MIET

Paul joined the Army in November 1989 where he completed his City and Guilds certificates as an electrician and in March 2003 he passed an HND course in Electrical Building Services. His time served in the Army gave him a lot of practical experience of electrical installations and completed the design of large accommodation and catering facilities. He also gained experience working as an Authorised Person for safety systems on RAF Airfields including HV, Airfield Lighting, Petroleum installations and confined spaces.

Paul became a Director at Hive Consultants in April 2018 and is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Chartered Electrical Engineer who thrives working in challenging conditions and leads his team to meet stringent deadlines.
